As a veteran broadcaster, I have more than 30 years experience
in radio/television industry.
My career highlights include a 15 year stint as News Director
of CHML/CKDS Radio in Hamilton. Here I managed a department of 26
reporters, producers and newscasters.
I consider myself a "hands on" news executive, serving
as the station's labour reporter for many years, personally covering
numerous industrial negotiations and major strikes.
I've also worked as a television commentator, covering various
federal, provincial and municipal elections as well as being the
voice of a number of special event productions.
I continue to work as a freelance journalist, providing news
and sports material to Broadcast News, a radio network with more
than 550 subscribing stations across Canada.
I am a member of International Radio-Television News Directors
Association (RTNDA), a North American-wide group of broadcast news
executives and served as the Ontario Director of the RTNDA in radio.
I am also a member of the Association for Media Literacy.
I expect the Media Relations Workshop to spark you to
new confidence presenting your message to the media.
